I Know Your Kingdom is an online magazine at inyourkingdom.com. This page explains what information reaches our site, why we have it, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
Information that reaches this site
We run on WordPress. In the course of serving pages and operating the magazine, the following information may be collected:
- Server and CDN logs created when you load a page, including your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, the referring page, and the time of the request.
- Comment submissions that you choose to post on an article, including the text you write and the name, email address, and (optionally) website URL you provide. WordPress also records the IP address and user agent with a comment to help address spam and abuse.
- Administrative login information for the small number of site editors who sign in to manage content. Public registration is closed.
- Emails you send to our published addresses. If you write to us, we receive the contents of your message and your email address in our mail system.
Why we use this information
We use information to publish and protect the magazine, to moderate discussions, to reply to messages you send us, and to maintain reliable, secure service.
Comments and public contributions
If you choose to leave a comment on an article, the comment and the name you enter will be public after approval. Your email address is not published on the site. WordPress stores the comment metadata (IP address, user agent, time) with the comment to help detect spam and misuse.
We do not run external comment-moderation or spam-scanning services on this site.
Cookies and local storage
WordPress sets functional cookies in two situations:
• If you leave a comment and opt to save your details, cookies store your name, email address, and website so you do not have to retype them next time.
• If an editor logs in to manage the site, WordPress sets session and authentication cookies. These are not set for regular readers.
Our caching/CDN layer may place strictly necessary cookies to route traffic and deliver pages quickly. We do not run advertising or analytics cookies on this site.
Server logs, hosting, and CDN
Our hosting provider and content delivery network keep server logs that include IP addresses and technical request details. These logs are used to operate the service, troubleshoot problems, and protect the site against abuse. Access to logs is limited to our site operators and the relevant service providers acting on our instructions.
Email and editorial correspondence
If you email us, we will use your message to respond and to handle the matter you raise. Messages may be retained in our mail archives as part of our editorial records and to maintain continuity of correspondence. Only our editors and relevant contributors can access these mailboxes.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell reader data. Information may be shared with our hosting and CDN service providers as needed to run the site. If required by law or to protect our rights, we may disclose information to competent authorities.
If you post a comment, the content you submit and the name you choose are public on the page where you posted them.
How long we keep information
Published comments are kept as part of the article record unless you ask us to remove them or we moderate them for policy reasons.
Administrative records and server logs are kept for the time needed to operate and secure the service and may be retained longer in the event of security investigations or legal obligations.
Email correspondence may be kept in our archives as long as it remains relevant to our editorial and operational records.
Your choices and rights
You can choose not to leave a comment or not to save comment cookies.
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, object to our use of it, or ask us to delete it where applicable. We will respond as required by the laws of your location.
